1. Introduce yourself.

My name is Ahmad Al-Hussein, CEO and General Manager of Jordan Ahli Bank. My professional experience extends over 35 years, working with several prestigious local and regional banks. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management Sciences and an MBA in Finance, both from the University of Jordan. I also earned a PhD in Finance from Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies.

2. What is your fondest memory from your time at the University of Jordan?

One of my fondest memories at the university was excelling in my Economics and Management Sciences studies. Another was completing my Bachelor's Degree within three years, without the final summer semester. This required hard work and effort, including taking a higher number of credit hours each semester. I remember occasionally sitting for multiple exams on the same day.

3. In one sentence, how would you describe the University of Jordan?

A prestigious university, an academic beacon and the cornerstone of Jordanian higher education. It reflects and embodies a significant era in the history of Jordan and, God willing, will continue and endure into the future.

4. How have your experiences at the University of Jordan shaped you, and what did you learn on your educational journey?

My journey with the University of Jordan equipped me with invaluable knowledge and skills and introduced me to distinguished scholars who profoundly impacted my academic and professional lives. It taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance, and dedication in achieving desired goals. The university also allowed me to form valuable friendships, which I appreciate and maintain to this day.

5. What advice would you give to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce?

My advice is to work hard, take matters seriously and exert the effort necessary to succeed. Focus on scientific research, reference multiple sources when studying a particular topic and consistently voice your opinions on subjects being studied. Persistence and resilience are key - never give up no matter the challenges.

6. Who has had the greatest impact on your professional career?

I find inspiration in every diligent person and lifelong learner I've encountered. Throughout my professional career, I have met many individuals who achieved remarkable success through their ethics, commitment, hard work and perseverance. Their success stories have driven me to give my best in all endeavors. ​
