About Alumni

1. Introduce yourself?

I am Zaid AlJazi, the founder and CEO of QuiqClaim, a fintech centralized marketplace for medical insurance claims. Our platform pre-assesses the receivables of healthcare providers, enabling quick collection by connecting them with third parties. This year, I successfully gained interest from multiple venture capital firms for my innovative contributions across the fintech, healthtech, and insurtech sectors.

As an experienced tech entrepreneur, I have co-founded several startups and hold a Master's degree from the University of Central Lancashire. My professional background includes business analysis roles in software development at companies such as Estarta Solutions, MenaItech, and IrisGuard.

2. Share your fondest memory from your time at Jordan University?

One of my most valued memories at the University of Jordan was collaborating with a diverse group of talented individuals on our capstone project. The experience taught me how to leverage different perspectives to achieve a common goal, which has been invaluable in my professional life.

3. In one word, how would you describe Jordan University?

Empowering.

4. Explain how your experiences at UJ shaped you?

My time at the University of Jordan instilled in me a strong foundation in analytical thinking and adaptability. The rigorous academic environment and supportive faculty pushed me to develop skills that have been essential in my career, such as problem-solving, resilience, and a strategic mindset. Networking with many students has facilitated building solid relationships with whom become friends now from different faculties and has been the keystone of having long term relationships that even served me during my business journey.

5. Discuss what fascinated you about your chosen course of study?

I was particularly fascinated by how Business Information Systems seamlessly integrates technology with business operations. Understanding how data-driven solutions can optimize decision-making and enhance organizational efficiency motivated me to specialize in this field.

6. Offer advice to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce?

Approach your career with a mindset of continuous learning. The tech industry is rapidly evolving and staying ahead means constantly upgrading your skills and knowledge. Additionally, prioritize building a professional network—it can open doors and provide opportunities you may not anticipate. One thing that I wish I have done is to have more internships than the required for the university, this will grant you an eye opener and save you time after graduation so you know better which career or role fits you more, not to mention that it will give you a quicker access to the business world.

7. Reflect on what you wish you had known during your time as a student?

I wish I had recognized earlier the importance of practical experience. Engaging in internships or real-world projects alongside theoretical study can offer invaluable insights and make you a stronger candidate in the job market.

8. Identify the person who has had the greatest impact on your career?

A mentor who greatly impacted my career was my Business Information Systems professor Dr Menam Zamzeer. His guidance and enthusiasm for the subject sparked my interest and helped me realize the potential of information systems in transforming businesses. Their mentorship encouraged me to pursue this path with confidence and ambition.
