About Alumni

1. Introduce yourself?

I am Lutfi Al-Zou’bi, a Jordanian sports journalist, presenter, and program host, currently serves as the Head of the Sports Department at Al-Mashhad Channel and Platform in Dubai. I host a sports program titled “Mal’abna,” which is a podcast-style talk show and is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world. My career began at Jordan Television as a presenter, sports commentator, and program host, before moving to Al Jazeera Political Channel as a news and sports program presenter. I later joined MBC, and subsequently Al Arabiya Channel, where I worked as a news and program presenter as well as an editor-in-chief. In 2005, I founded “Al-Laith Media,” a company that collaborates with around 30 television channels worldwide. My passion for sports and media has driven me to build a career that combines sports analysis, impactful dialogues, and sports commentary.

2. Share your fondest memory from your time at Jordan University?

My fondest memories are the deep academic discussions I had with my professors and peers in the university halls. These conversations were truly inspiring moments for reflection and growth.

3. In one word, how would you describe Jordan University?

   Inspiring.

4. Explain how your experiences at UJ shaped you?

The University of Jordan provided me with a strong academic foundation and a structured approach to understanding sports media professionally.

My Master's studies in Sports Management, particularly my thesis on sports media (the first of its kind in Jordan), helped me hone my research and analytical skills, which had a direct impact on my professional career.

5. Discuss what fascinated you about your chosen course of study?

Honestly, it's the interdisciplinary nature of sports, media, and management.

I loved exploring the depth of studies connecting media's influence on sports and how to present it to audiences in a professional and impactful way.

6. Offer advice to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce?

Invest your time in building a professional network, always strive for self-development, and stay updated with the fast-paced changes in the media industry.

Dedicate time and effort to your craft to develop your skills fully.

Remember, every setback, failure, or challenge will elevate you, building an incredible inner strength.

7. Reflect on what you wish you had known during your time as a student?

I now realize the importance of focusing on developing technical skills and staying up-to-date with the latest media technologies.

Looking back, I wish I had emphasized this more during my studies. Practically speaking, when social media emerged, I found it crucial to immerse myself in this field and develop my expertise. This effort has helped me become one of the leading influencers in the Arab world.

8. Identify the person who has had the greatest impact on your career?

My professors at the University of Jordan, such as the late Dr. Mohammed Khair Mamser (former Jordanian Minister of Youth) and Dr. Sari Hamdan (President of Amman Al-Ahliyya University), played a significant role in guiding me academically.

Additionally, prominent media figures like Ayman Jada and Mohammad Jameel Abdulqader inspired me to refine my skills and adopt a professional approach to presenting, commenting, and analyzing sports.
