1. Introduce yourself? I am Mohammad Qutishat, an Alumnus of the University from the School of Archaeology and Tourism. I am a proud husband and a father to twins, Jad and Sanad. Currently the Deputy General Manager of Guarantee Travel Group, leading the operations of two business units of the company in Dubai, Amman and Barcelona. |
2. Share your fondest memory from your time at Jordan University? One of the most memorable moments during my stay in the University was when the Student Council election results has been released and I have been announced as one of the official winners. From this day on, I clearly recall that I have gained more trust from my classmates and my fellow students. I have increased my network as well and have proven many more valuable things to myself and my fellow students. |
3. In one word, how would you describe Jordan University? Power |
4. Explain how your experiences at UJ shaped you? UJ has instilled a lot of very good values and experiences during my university days, not only educational but as well on social aspects. As I have mentioned, after taking part on the student council, I have been able to gain very good network which has then contributed a huge part of what shaped me in my personal and career growth up to present. |
5. Discuss what fascinated you about your chosen course of study? I have grown up from a family of travel industry practitioners and I have always looked up to my dad. One best thing that has fascinated me about my major is travel – the program has indeed provided me access to see the world, experience different cultures and accept international understanding. |
6. Offer advice to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce? Enjoy the university time, learn and bring with you as much knowledge you can and use it to fly high in the real world. Only by accepting differences you will be able to travel and see countless opportunities |
7. Reflect on what you wish you had known during your time as a student? I took my time to enjoy the days as a student and ensured that I have balanced studies and co- curriculars. |
8. Identify the person who has had the greatest impact on your career? As I have mentioned recently, I have always looked up to my dad who has been an industry practitioner, a very well- travelled individual who has opened me up with so many opportunities the world has to offer. I remember, one day he told me; “A journey begins with a single step, one day you're going to look up from your feet and you will be at your destination" and I believe I did it and continue achieving more.
