About Alumni

1. Introduce yourself?

I am Ghaleb Al-Faraj, holding a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Jordan, Class of 1999. I pursued my postgraduate studies at Queen's University of Belfast in the United Kingdom, where I obtained a Master's degree in Information Technology Law. I have been practicing law since then, and I currently serve as a Managing Partner at Al-Sanad Law Group in collaboration with Eversheds Sutherland, with a particular focus on commercial law, information technology, arbitration, and legal regulations.

2. Share your fondest memory from your time at Jordan University?

My most cherished memory is the moment I went to the Admissions and Registration Department on the first day, as it marked the beginning of a new and remarkable chapter in my life.

3. In one word, how would you describe Jordan University?

A university for all:

  • It embraces students from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and Arab countries.
  • It offers a wide range of scientific and literary faculties.
  • It is distinguished by a highly experienced and prestigious academic staff.

4. Explain how your experiences at UJ shaped you?

My years of study at the University of Jordan gave me the opportunity to build a wide network of relationships, both within the Faculty of Law and with colleagues from other faculties and different nationalities. This interaction helped shape my personality and develop my social and academic skills, which later had a positive impact on my professional career.

5. Discuss what fascinated you about your chosen course of study?

What I loved about studying law is that it broadened my intellectual horizons and enabled me to view various aspects of life from a legal perspective. It gave me the ability to understand legislation more deeply. I will never forget the support of my professors at the Faculty of Law, who were my true pillars from the very beginning until the achievement of my accomplishments today.

6. Offer advice to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce?

I advise graduates to leave the Faculty of Law and the University of Jordan with gratitude and appreciation for this prestigious academic institution. Graduation is only the first step in a long professional journey that requires continuous learning, hard work, and commitment as the path to growth and success.

7. Reflect on what you wish you had known during your time as a student?

I wish I had realized earlier that academic achievement at university, despite its importance, is only the first step. Professional life is a longer and deeper journey that requires greater focus and effort to achieve excellence.

8. Identify the person who has had the greatest impact on your career?

Mr. Saleem Al-Faraj, my father, has been the greatest supporter of my journey. He spared no effort in offering advice, guidance, and both financial and moral support, whether during my years of study, my early days as a trainee lawyer, or throughout my professional career in the legal field.
