About Alumni

1. Introduce yourself?

I am Mohammad Yahya Nabhan, a Jordanian entrepreneur, angel investor, and content creator. I have extensive experience in founding, building, and scaling startups. I am the co-founder and CEO of DESAISIV, an InsurTech company that leverages artificial intelligence to help organizations manage health insurance programs and negotiate optimal terms and pricing. I have over ten years of experience in sales and business development, having worked with local and global companies such as Pfizer. I have also founded and successfully exited two startups with seven-figure deals and currently work as an angel investor and mentor to entrepreneurs.

2. What is your fondest memory from your time at the University of Jordan?

My fondest memory was during the launch of the first company I founded while I was still a university student. I built a real team and had an operating business before graduation, which transformed the university into a space for experimentation and practical application rather than just academic study.

3. In one word, how would you describe Jordan University ?

Platform.

4. Explain how your experiences at UJ shaped you?

The University of Jordan helped me learn how to navigate cultural diversity and work with people from different backgrounds. This significantly contributed to developing my leadership and communication skills and enabled me to turn ideas into real projects with an early entrepreneurial mindset.

5. Discuss what fascinated you about your chosen course of study?

Although pharmacy was not my ultimate goal, I chose it out of my interest in the healthcare sector and my belief in its importance and direct impact on people’s lives. What fascinated me most was understanding the healthcare ecosystem and connecting it with business and technology.

6.Offer advice to graduating students preparing to enter the workforce?

I advise students not to wait until graduation to start building practical experience. Focus on developing hands-on skills, experimenting, learning from mistakes, and building a strong professional network early on.

7. Reflect on what you wish you had known during your time as a student?

I wish I had realized earlier that building practical skills and professional relationships is just as important as academic excellence, and that time is the most valuable asset.

8. Identify the person who has had the greatest impact on your career?

A group of mentors and entrepreneurs, in addition to hands-on experiences themselves, which played a major role in shaping my professional awareness and business mindset.
